The Rhône Room: Sip Rhône Wines in the Heart of Sonoma

There’s hardly a trip to Sonoma that’s complete without a visit (or an attempted visit if you didn’t book reservations well in advance) to The Girl & The Fig restaurant on the Sonoma Square. If you haven’t eaten there, you should, and if you have you know that they do an awesome job of curating local Rhône varietal wines on their wine list. Enter: The Rhône Room.

From the team behind The Girl & The Fig comes The Rhône Room – a tasting room, garden patio, and working farm. You’ll find this gem on your way in to or out of Sonoma on Broadway. Make a plan to stop here, whether it be tasting spot number one, or the place you wine-down your Sonoma afternoon.

The Rhône Room offers tasting flights of three or five wines, or you can grab a glass or bottle and enjoy the patio. I love this place because you can really get your wine geek on. Mourvedre, Syrah, Counoise, Marsanne, Rousanne, and yes, Viognier (or as I like to call it, “Viogn-YAY!”) from local and French producers. You know you can trust the selection because you always know you can trust The Girl & The Fig to deliver outstanding quality in their wine and food (and yes, the farm site here is used exclusively by the restaurant). Make a plan to do something different on your next trip to Sonoma – stray from the norm and the crowds and sip your way through some of Sonoma’s most unique and exciting wines all in one place.
